About Steve

Steve is a 10 year old boy from Fresno who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a disease that weakens and destroys the body’s skeletal muscles, and ultimately the heart and muscles that control breathing.

Steve is an outgoing boy and is quick to make friends. He is the oldest of seven and relies on T.V. and movies to show him the world outside of Fresno.

Steve likes to play Uno with his family and watch the Teen Titans with his siblings. Steve loves his grandmother’s famous mashed potatoes with cheese and hot dogs. Donuts and popcorn are also high on the list of food he loves. He will rock out and dance at any opportunity. When asked his favorite subject in school, he said math but he also loves to draw. Friday night is movie night and Spiderman, RoboCop, King Kong and the Avengers are his

favorites. Steve’s wish is to visit the bright lights and the big city buildings that he has only seen in the movies he loves.

Steve’s wish is to go to New York City, see all the sights, and do a little shopping. Steve was very adamant on who would accompany him on his adventure: only his mother and grandparents who help take care of him. His six siblings have to stay at home! That way he can be the center of attention. Steve’s wish experience of a trip to New York City will provide him with unforgettable memories as well as give him renewed hope for the future, strength to endure, and joy to last his lifetime.
